Mangaluru: youth dies of electrocution

Ullal, Feb 24, 2026: A 20-year-old youth died after suffering an electric shock while preparing for the inauguration of his new garment store at Thokkottu on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Salman Farish (20), originally from Pajiru Bengodi Padavu and currently residing at Shivanagar in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru.

Salman Farish was set to inaugurate his new garment shop this Friday at a private commercial complex in Thokkottu. On Sunday night, preparatory work was underway at the shop, including electrical installations and other arrangements.

During the process, he reportedly suffered a sudden electric shock. Workers present at the shop immediately rushed him in an autorickshaw to a private hospital in Deralakatte. However, he is said to have died on the way.
