Mangaluru to host special Cabinet meeting on Sept 18; D.K. Shivakumar greets people in Tulu

Bengaluru, Sept. 15, 2026: The Karnataka government will hold a special Cabinet meeting in Mangaluru on September 18, with a focus on the development of the coastal districts, particularly the Tulu Nadu region.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced the meeting through a video message posted on X.

“We have organised a special Cabinet meeting in the coastal city of Mangaluru on September 18 to fulfil the long-standing aspirations of the people of the coastal region,” Shivakumar said.

He said the government aims to understand the problems and requirements of people in the coastal region closely and take decisions on the spot based on local needs.

According to Shivakumar, Team Karnataka is ready to give a fresh impetus to the comprehensive development of the coastal region by focusing on sectors such as ports, infrastructure, fisheries and industries.

Several major projects and development-related decisions concerning the coastal districts are expected to receive approval during the special Cabinet meeting in Mangaluru.

At the end of his video message, Shivakumar also greeted the people of the coastal region in Tulu, saying “Maateregla Solmelu” (greetings to everyone).
