Mangaluru sitarist performs in grand Vande Mataram ensemble in New Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 8, 2025: Ankush N. Nayak, a sitarist from Mangaluru, was part of the Grand National Music Ensemble conducted by violin virtuoso Dr. Mysore Manjunath, which presented a special rendition of Vande Mataram at the 150th anniversary celebration of the national song.

The event, held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ensemble’s soulful performance earned a standing ovation from the Prime Minister and the audience.

Also present at the occasion were Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Culture, Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lt. Governor of Delhi, and Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi.
