Mangaluru’s Ananya Rao appointed Sub-lieutenant of Indian Navy

Mangaluru, June 11, 2025: Ananya Rao, daughter of retired telecom employee Satish Rao and Veena from Mangaluru has been appointed as sub-lieutenant in the Indian Navy. Ananya’s family resides at Land Links, Mangaluru.

Ananya had her education upto PUC in Mangaluru and later did her B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NITK Suratkal.

Ananya who was deeply passionate about joining the defense forces since her childhood was an active NCC cadet during her college days. Upon completion of her engineering degree she appeared for the Army Recruitment Exam.

Ananya’s father Satish is actively involved in the task of empowerment of the differently abled and is presently the district treasurer of Sakshama.
