Mangaluru, Oct. 2, 2026: The Mangaluru railway area, which was earlier under the Palakkad Division, officially came under the administrative jurisdiction of the Mysuru Division from midnight on Wednesday. Mysuru Division Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) Shammaas Hameed inspected the local arrangements on Wednesday night and took necessary measures to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted train operations.
Accompanied by branch officers from the Mysuru Division, Hameed visited key railway facilities including Mangaluru Central, Mangaluru Junction, Panambur and Jokatte. He reviewed operational preparedness and infrastructure at the locations and interacted with railway staff regarding manpower and other resources required for uninterrupted train services.
The inspection focused on coordination between various departments, staff preparedness, train operations, safety arrangements, maintenance activities and passenger services. Officials were instructed to address operational requirements promptly and maintain continuous coordination between field-level units and the divisional office.
The transfer of the Mangaluru railway area to the Mysuru Division marks a significant development from both administrative and operational perspectives.
