Mangaluru glows in Dasara festive spirit as streets, temples light up

Mangaluru, Oct 15, 2026: Colourful illuminations, beautifully decorated temples and bustling streets have transformed Mangaluru into a festive spectacle as the city celebrates Dasara.

Major thoroughfares, including M.G. Road, K.S. Rao Road, Mangaladevi Temple Road, Car Street and Kudroli Temple Road, have been adorned with vibrant lights, attracting residents and visitors.

Prominent landmarks, including the Mangaluru City Corporation building and Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall, have also been illuminated, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Temples such as Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple, Mangaladevi Temple, Urwa Mariyamma Temple, Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple, Car Street Venkatramana Temple and Bolar Mariyamma Temple have been decorated for the celebrations.

The illuminated streets are witnessing a heavy evening rush, with people gathering to enjoy the festive displays, street food and cultural atmosphere. Tiger dance troupes and huli vesha performers have added to the excitement, making Dasara a vibrant celebration of Mangaluru’s cultural and religious heritage.
