Mangaluru college ragging case: 9 seniors booked for allegedly assaulting juniors

Mangaluru, Sep 25, 2026: Police have registered a case against nine senior students of a private college in Mangaluru for allegedly ragging and assaulting two first-year students.

The accused have been identified as Naseed Ameer, Adil M., Arshak, Aneesh, Uwais, Rohan Ramesh, Adil V.P., Rehan M.P. and Shinas.

According to the complaint, first-year BBA Port Shipping and Logistics students Ameer Ali and Mohammed Alfaz were walking from the college on September 19 when the accused allegedly took them on a motorcycle to a room.

The students alleged that they were forced to remove their clothes and were assaulted with a belt, hanger and hands. They further alleged that when they asked for drinking water, they were given contaminated water. After they refused to drink it, the water was allegedly poured over them.

The students also alleged that they were threatened with death if they disclosed the incident. They further claimed that Naseed Ameer later threatened them at the college and instructed them to come clean-shaven and not wear shoes.

In his complaint, Ameer Ali alleged that Rehan M.P., who was present in the room, struck him on the forehead with an iron punch. He claimed that he could have suffered serious injury had he not managed to evade the blow.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged ragging and assault.
