Mangaluru, December 25, 2025: Society thrives on love and a culture that respects life. Bishop Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha of the Mangaluru Diocese said that Christians are nurturing a culture that honors human life.
He delivered this message while leading a special Christmas Mass at Rosario Cathedral on Wednesday.
“Followers of Jesus are symbols of peace and love in the world. They live by Jesus’ words, ‘Love one another as I have loved you.’ Christians in India have made immense contributions to society. Embodying love and service, they reflect the life of Jesus Christ. The Christmas festival inspires us to live like Christ. By God’s grace, we can grow as messengers of peace, as bridges among people, and as those who love everyone,” said Bishop Dr. Saldanha.
The event was attended by Rosario Cathedral’s main priest, Fr. Valerian D’Souza, along with assistant priests Fr. Valerian Fernandes and Fr. Jason Lobo.
At Milagres Church, Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth led the Christmas Mass;
At Our Lady Hill Church, Fr. Benjamin Pinto led the celebrations;
At St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar, Fr. Daniel Sampath Vegas presided;
At Kulauru Church, Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo conducted the Christmas Mass.
Evening celebrations at churches under the Mangaluru Diocese included Christmas carols, Mass, and other festive programs. Scenes of people exchanging greetings and offering sweets and cakes were seen everywhere.
