Mangaluru, June 22, 2025: On the occasion of World Yoga Day, an eight-year-old girl from Mangaluru has made headlines by setting two records in the challenging Kapotasana yoga pose.
Sharanya Sharath, a student of St. Mary’s College, Falnir, achieved the feat by holding the pose continuously for an impressive one hour, two minutes, and 30 seconds. Her accomplishment has been recognized by both the India Book of Records and the Worldwide Book of Records, making her a standout achiever in the world of yoga.
Sharanya’s performance shattered the previous 15-minute record held by Harinita BS of Tamil Nadu, establishing a new benchmark in the Worldwide Book of Records.
She attributes her success to the guidance of international yoga expert Kavita Ashok, who has mentored her since a young age and herself holds accolades in the India Book of Records.
Sharanya’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and talent, inspiring others to embrace the transformative power of yoga.
