
Mangaluru, Jun 10, 2026: Two accused persons in separate cases, who had been absconding for nearly five years after failing to appear before the court and evading arrest, were traced and apprehended by the officers and staff of the Barke Police Station. The accused were produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Khader Tansip alias Tanji, a resident of Thoudagoli Cross in Naringana village of Bantwal, and Mohammed Raziq, a resident of Kundal House in Kannur, Adyar, Mangaluru.

A case had been registered against Abdul Khader Tansip alias Tanji at Barke Police Station under Crime No. 18/2021 for offences punishable under Sections 143, 147, 148, 353, 332, 504 read with Section 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Since he had failed to appear before the court for approximately five years in connection with the case, the court had issued a warrant against him. He is also involved in other cases registered at Konaje and Manjeshwar police stations.
Similarly, Mohammed Raziq was booked at Barke Police Station under Crime No. 17/2021 under Sections 143, 147, 148, 353, 332, 506, 307 read with Section 149 of the IPC. He had also remained absconding and failed to appear before the court for nearly five years, leading to the issuance of a warrant against him. In addition, cases have been registered against him at Kankanady, Belthangady, Puttur and Kadri police stations.
