Mangaluru: Traffic diversions announced in several areas on September 5 for Mosaru Kudike celebrations

Mangaluru, Sep 4, 2026: Traffic diversions and alternate routes have been announced in several parts of Mangaluru on September 5 in view of Mosaru Kudike celebrations and processions being held across the city as part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami.

With a possibility of traffic congestion on several major roads, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner has advised the public to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Areas Likely to Witness Traffic Congestion and Alternative Routes


1. Sri Arasu Mundattaya Maidan, Attavar Mosaru Kudike

Traffic congestion is likely from Koti Chennaya Circle through Babugudda–Attavar KMC Road up to Anand Shetty Circle.

Alternative routes:

* Vehicles travelling from Koti Chennaya Circle towards Attavar can use the Valencia route.
* Vehicles travelling from Attavar towards Koti Chennaya Circle can turn left at Attavar Anand Shetty Circle and proceed via S.L. Mathias Road and Highland Junction.

2. Kadri Sri Gopalakrishna Mutt, Kadri Kambla Mosaru Kudike

Traffic congestion is likely on the road from Battagudda Junction to Kadri Kambla and Bharat Beedi.

Alternative routes:

* Vehicles travelling from Battagudda towards Kadri Kambla can take the Bijai Junction–Pinto Bakery–Karangalpady route.
* Vehicles travelling from Bharat Beedi towards Battagudda can take the Mallikatta–Nanthoor route.

3. Thokkottu Olapete Mosaru Kudike

Traffic congestion is likely on NH-66 from Thokkottu Junction to Kolya Junction, as well as towards Ullal Abbakka Circle and Thokkottu Olapete.

Alternative routes:

* Vehicles travelling towards Talapady via Thokkottu Junction can take a left onto the service road at Thokkottu Junction, turn right at Deralakatte Junction and proceed via Madyar–Madoor–Beerikotekar Junction.
* Vehicles travelling from Thokkottu Junction towards Ullal Abbakka Circle and Thokkottu Olapete can take the Beerikotekar–Someshwar route.

4. Sri Krishna Jnanodaya Bhajana Mandir, Kottara Mosaru Kudike

Traffic congestion is likely from Kottara Chowki to Urwa Store Junction.

Alternative routes:

* Vehicles travelling from Lalbagh/Narayanaguru Circle towards Kottara Chowki can use the KSRTC–Kuntikana route.
* Light vehicles travelling from Kottara Chowki towards Lalbagh can take the Kuntikana–Bijai–KSRTC route.
* Heavy vehicles travelling from Kottara Chowki towards Lalbagh can take the Kuntikana–KPT Circle route.

Police Urge Public to Cooperate


As Mosaru Kudike celebrations and processions held as part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami are likely to disrupt traffic on several roads across the city, the police have urged the public to use alternative routes wherever possible.

The Mangaluru City Police Commissioner has also appealed to motorists not to park vehicles at event venues or along procession routes and to cooperate with the police personnel deployed for traffic regulation.
