
Mangaluru, Apr 14, 2026: The City Police have arrested three additional suspects in connection with the murder of rowdy sheeter Arif, who was killed at the Thokkottu flyover on March 27. These latest arrests bring the total number of individuals in custody to 10 as investigators continue to unravel the conspiracy behind the slaying.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH identified the arrested individuals as Arshad, Puche Nisak, and Junaid. According to the Commissioner, the trio played significant roles not only in the final conspiracy but also in previous attempts on Arif’s life.
Arshad is alleged to have been a central figure in the logistics of the crime, reportedly providing weapons, monitoring police movements, and arranging both transportation and funding for the other suspects.
Investigation reveals that the victim had been targeted multiple times prior to the fatal attack. Puche Nisak was allegedly involved in an attempt to kill Arif this past February and was reportedly part of a group that attacked him in 2022. Junaid is accused of providing the vehicle used during the February attempt and participating in that incident.
Commissioner Reddy stated that the investigation remains active, as authorities believe more individuals were involved in the planning and execution of the murder. Efforts are currently underway to track down the remaining suspects.
