Mangaluru: Sumathi Naik demands arrest and probe into Moodbidri Police Inspector Sandesh

Mangaluru, Mar 20, 2026: Sumathi Naik of Karkala has demanded the arrest and investigation of Moodbidri Police Inspector Sandesh, who is currently under suspension, alleging that he subjected her, her nephew, and her son to mental harassment, death threats, defamation, and sexual harassment.

Speaking at a press conference at the city Press Club, she accused that a false case had been filed against them with the support of her sister, Prafulla.

She further stated that her nephew had already filed a complaint with the legal authorities regarding the injustice, following which a court had directed the registration of an FIR against the inspector. However, she alleged that no action has been taken so far.

Naik also claimed that all the statements made by Prafulla during a recent press meet were false and said she would provide documents to prove her claims.

She demanded a thorough investigation into Inspector Sandesh’s mobile phone, bank statements, and all his contacts in his IB group. She also urged authorities to examine the mobile phone and bank statements of Prafulla.
