Mangaluru: Student protest has shaken even the ’56-inch Prime Minister,’ says DYFI leader Santosh Bajal

Mangaluru, Jul 25, 2026: The ongoing student agitation at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET question paper leak and other related issues, has spread across the country. The movement has even "shaken the chest of the 56-inch Prime Minister," alleged DYFI Dakshina Kannada district secretary Santosh Bajal.

He was addressing a protest organised in Mangaluru under the joint banner of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in support of the indefinite student protest at Jantar Mantar and demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET scam.

Bajal alleged that 89 question paper leaks had taken place since the establishment of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and described it as an incompetent institution. He demanded that the Central government immediately dissolve the NTA.

He further condemned the alleged action of the Delhi Police and BJP workers against protesting students, calling it "highly inhuman." He appealed to the people of Dakshina Kannada to extend their support to what he described as a legitimate student movement seeking justice.

Among those present at the protest were DYFI district leaders Nithin Kuttar, Manoj Vamanjoor, Naveen Konchady, rationalist Narendra Nayak, advocate Dinesh Hegde Ulepady, Charan Shetty, SFI district secretary Vinush Raman, Mohammed Ajlan, Sandesh, Almas, trade union leaders Sunil Kumar Bajal, Yogish Jappinamogaru, Balakrishna Shetty, Mahabala Deppelimar, Tayyub Bengre, Naushad Bengre, Asunta D’Souza, Pramila Shaktinagar, Yogita Ullal, and others.
