Mangaluru: Speeding car fatally knocks down young scooterist who had stopped to wear raincoat

Mulki, June 27, 2025: A young woman who had stopped by the roadside near Pavanje on the NH 66 along with her father to wear raincoat, was fatally run over by a speeding car on Friday.

The deceased is Shruthi Acharya (27), a resident of Bangrakulur. Her father Gopal Acharya (53) and another woman Kairunnisa (52) who was standing nearby have sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the hospital.

 

 

 

Shruthi and her father had stopped their two-wheeler to wear raincoat when the car heading towards Mangaluru from Udupi literally dragged Shruthi upto a distance along with her two-wheeler. She was rushed to the hospital, where she breathed her lost.

Shruthi was a software engineer in Chennai and had come home to take part in the last rites of her brother who passed away 15 days ago. She was returning after visiting a bank  at Kinnigoli along with her father when tragedy struck.
