Mangaluru, Nov 25, 2025: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader on Tuesday addressed the media in Mangaluru ahead of the upcoming Winter Session scheduled to be held in Belagavi.

Khader said that all necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the session and for the participation of all members. A designated area has also been earmarked for protests during the session, he added.

He noted that the session may cause minor inconvenience to local residents and appealed to the public to extend their cooperation.

According to him, several bills have been submitted for consideration, and passing the bills in the interest of the State will be the top priority of the session. “Six bills are already listed for discussion,” he said.

Khader Responds to Corruption Allegations

Speaking about the corruption allegations made against him, the Speaker said such matters “are not even worth discussing.”
“Truth always remains on record. So far, no one has submitted a written complaint,” he clarified.

Referring to the controversy over a massage chair, Khader said the chair had been installed free of cost by the company itself.
“Let anyone study all the documents. I cannot respond every time someone makes a statement. People may talk a lot in politics. If an issue is raised as per rules, I will allow discussion,” he said.

Khader further remarked that after becoming Speaker, he has shut down his “political channel” and now operates only through the “Constitutional channel.”

In a light-hearted comment on speculation about him receiving a ministerial post, he said, “When the ball comes, I will hit it with the bat.”
