Mangaluru: Six interstate drug peddlers arrested; MDMA, ganja and cars seized

Mangaluru, Mar 6, 2026: In a major anti-drug operation, Mangaluru police arrested six interstate accused who were allegedly transporting and selling banned narcotic substances targeting the city’s educational institutions and youth.

Acting on specific information, officers from the Mangaluru South and North police stations conducted a joint operation and arrested the accused involved in the drug peddling network.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammed Sayyed Afridi (26), a native of Koteshwara in Udupi district currently residing in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru; Maksud Nag (23) of Balmata, Mangaluru; Ahmed Ali Arvan (22), originally from Koteshwara in Udupi district and presently living in Pandeshwar; Felix P. Joseph (20) of Kottayam, Kerala; Edal Roche (33) of Kankanady, Mangaluru; and Aaron Vishal Lasrado (18) of Mallikatte, Kadri in Mangaluru.

During the investigation, police found that the accused were procuring narcotic substances from Bengaluru and Mumbai and supplying them in Mangaluru, mainly targeting college students and women.

Police seized 53.87 grams of MDMA, around 163 grams of hydro-weed (ganja), 1 kg 155 grams of ganja, along with a luxury MG Hector car and a Maruti Swift car from the accused.

On March 4, 2026, police from the Mangaluru South Police Station raided Classic Comfort Lodge on Badria Road, where four of the accused had rented a room and were allegedly selling drugs to college students and women.

In another operation on the same day, North Police Station officers arrested Edal Roche and Aaron Vishal Lasrado near Green Park Ground in Bunder, where they were reportedly selling narcotics from a Swift car.
