Mangaluru: Six arrested for immoral policing case

Mangaluru, Aug 14, 2025: Pandeshwar police have arrested six individuals in connection with a case of alleged illegal policing in the city.

The accused have been identified as Ganesh, Shreyas, Chinchhu, Chandan, Nagaraj, and Ramachandra. On August 11, the accused allegedly stopped and threatened a college student and a young man who were walking near the service bus stand close to State Bank.

According to the complaint, the girl, a PUC student, was returning from college and walking with her friend’s relative when a group of 7–8 unknown persons confronted them, asking why she was with the man and what they were talking about, before issuing death threats. Based on her complaint, police registered a case and arrested six of the accused.
