Mangaluru SAF Constable held on rape charge after Woman Advocate’s Complaint in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sept 7, 2025: A police constable attached to the Special Action Force (SAF) in Mangaluru has been arrested in Bengaluru on charges of rape, following a complaint by a woman advocate.

The accused, Siddegowda, was taken into custody by Basaveshwaranagar police after the woman alleged he had a sexual relationship with her on the false promise of marriage and later refused to marry her.

He was produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody. Police said a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
