Mangaluru, Jul 22, 2025: The Rs 10 crore fraud case involving Roshan Saldanha (43), a resident of Bollugudde, Bajal, has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further probe. Roshan, already under arrest for a multi-crore nationwide scam, was earlier booked by the CEN police in this specific case.

As per regulations, any fraud involving Rs 10 crore or more is eligible for CID investigation. A request for CID involvement had been submitted earlier, and the department has now officially taken over the case. This particular complaint was filed by a businessman from Bihar who alleged that he was cheated in a land deal.

City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy clarified that while this case is now with the CID, other complaints against Roshan registered at the CEN police station will continue to be investigated by local police.

In a new development, a Hyderabad-based complainant has approached the police commissioner alleging he was defrauded of Rs 1 crore by Roshan. An FIR has been registered at the CEN station based on this complaint.

Including the case transferred to the CID, Roshan now faces a total of two FIRs in Mangaluru. Since his arrest, additional cases have emerged—among them, cheating a Maharashtra-based businessman of Rs 5 crore, another from Assam of Rs 20 crore, and yet another case filed in Chitradurga where an Andhra Pradesh businessman was allegedly cheated of Rs 40 lakh.

As the investigation deepens, authorities have uncovered multiple bank accounts linked to Roshan, with transactions reportedly exceeding Rs 50 crore. Police are currently examining these accounts and identifying more possible victims. They have urged anyone affected to file complaints either in Mangaluru or at their local police stations.

Commissioner Reddy also stated that police are preparing documents to seek Roshan’s custody. A formal petition will be submitted in court on July 23 to obtain custody for further interrogation.
