Mangaluru: RPF personnel return lost luggage worth Rs 5.92 lakh to passenger

Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2025: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from Southern Railway’s Mangaluru Central Post have returned a bag containing valuables worth ₹5.92 lakh to its rightful owner.

According to an official release, Sub-Inspector K. Premkumar and Constable K. Pradeesh recovered an unattended bag from Platform No. 3 during their routine patrol. The bag contained cash, mobile phones, spectacles, and other valuable items estimated to be worth ₹5.92 lakh.


Luggage return

The RPF managed to trace the owner after receiving a call on one of the recovered mobile phones. After due verification, the belongings were formally handed over to Suresh Kumar, a relative of the passenger.

The swift and responsible action of the RPF personnel has been lauded for ensuring the safe return of passenger valuables and reinforcing public trust in railway security services.
