Mangaluru: Press Day celebrations organized

Mangaluru, Jul 03, 2023: On Saturday, July 1, the Press Day celebrations were inaugurated by Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, organized by the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Union and Mangalore Press Club.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During his opening speech, Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain acknowledged the continuous growth of the press and media in Mangaluru. He emphasized the importance of controlling the spread of negative information about the Mangaluru district and highlighted the role of the brand Mangaluru in educating the public.

Suresh D Palli, a reporter from Hosa Diganta newspaper, and Bharathraj K Sanil, a reporter from Asianet Suvarna News, were honored with the Brand Mangaluru award by the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists for their outstanding contributions. Suresh D Palli received the award for his article titled ’Mathe Ondagali Odeda Manasugalu,’ published in Hosa Digantha on June 13, 2022, while Bharathraj K Sanil’s report titled ’Hindu Kushalakarmia Kaichalaka Komu Sookshma Mangalurina Sauhardatheya Kathe’ was telecast on Suvarna News on April 19, 2022.

An exhibition of caricature art by John Chandran, an art teacher from St. Aloysius School, was also showcased at the event.

Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Union, warmly welcomed all the attendees. Jitendra Kundeshwara, the General Secretary, expressed gratitude through a vote of thanks, while Journalist Arif skillfully hosted the event.
