Mangaluru: Power poles collapse on house amid heavy rain, major tragedy averted

Mangaluru, July 9, 2026: Three to four electricity poles collapsed onto the ground and on a house near the Indianana Hall in Jeppinamogaru, under the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru City Corporation, following heavy rainfall on Wednesday.

Fortunately, a major tragedy was averted as there was no power supply at the time of the incident. The power outage prevented any electrocution or further damage.

The incident caused panic among local residents, but no casualties or injuries were reported. Authorities are expected to take up restoration work and assess the damage caused by the collapse of the electricity poles.
