
Mangaluru, Mar 13, 2026: Two individuals have been arrested in connection with ganja peddling, and 1.1 kg of the substance was seized during a raid conducted by Ullal police.
Acting on a tip-off, officers from Ullal police station raided a public area near Bagambila in Kotekar village, Ullal taluk. The police had received information that three people were selling ganja to locals and college students.
During the operation, two suspects were apprehended while a third managed to escape on a scooter. The arrested have been identified as Sheikh Arbaz and Rasheed Alvin, both from Uppala in Kasargod, whereas the fleeing individual, Altaf, remains at large.
Authorities recovered 1.1 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth Rs 51,500, along with Rs 520 in cash, two mobile phones, and other related items from the arrested individuals.
A case has been registered at Ullal police station under Sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and investigations are ongoing.
