Mangaluru: Police intercept lorry carrying 23 cattle; one held, two flee

Mangaluru, Aug 24, 2026: Police have uncovered an alleged illegal cattle transportation operation near Kuloor on the National Highway.

Acting on information provided by Bajrang Dal activists, police intercepted a lorry in the early hours of Monday after receiving information that cattle were being transported in a cruel manner.

A total of 23 cattle were found being transported in the lorry. Police have taken one person into custody, while two others reportedly fled from the spot.

Further investigation is underway.
