Mangaluru: Odisha labourer goes missing from boat on Phalguni River

Mangaluru, December 5, 2025: A 27-year-old labourer from Odisha, identified as Suresh Majhi, has gone missing from a boat anchored along the Phalguni River near Sultan Bathery. The incident occurred in the early hours of December 3.

The boat, which had been anchored since December 1, carried 29 labourers. Around 1:30 am on December 3, fellow workers alerted the boat in-charge, Prashanth, that Suresh was missing. Prashanth subsequently filed a complaint at the Barke police station.

Suresh is described as approximately 5 feet tall, of wheatish complexion, and of average build. He speaks Hindi and Odia. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a black T-shirt and blue pants.

Police have urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Barke police station.
