Mangaluru: Nursing student posing as RAW officer trapped by cops

Mangaluru, August 21, 2023: A nursing student at a private college in Mangaluru who was posing as a police officer and RAW officer has been arrested.

The accused is Benedict Sabu from Idukki in Kerala. He had joined a private college in Mangaluru six months ago for the GNM course. During admission he had reportedly told the principal that he was an agricultural officer of Kerala. Later he posed as a sub-inspector with other students. With some others he also introduced himself as a RAW field agent. However, he was trapped red handed by the police during a drug awareness event held at the college recently.

The Police Department which had organised the programme grew suspicions of Sabu. After the programme, cops trapped the student and questioned him when the truth came to light.

It is learnt, Sabu had even got stitched uniform to pose as a RAW officer. Police have seized his uniform, mobile and laptop.
