
Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2024: A function was held at the TMA Pai Hall in the city on January 11 to mark National Road Safety Week – 2024. The theme this year is “Follow Traffic Rules- Save Your Future.” The programme was jointly organized by the Karnataka State Police, Mangaluru City Traffic Police, Department of Transport and Bharath Scouts and Guides. Special students from St Agnes Special School and Chaitanya Special School joined hands with the dignitaries in lighting the lamp.










Speaking on the occasion, City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal stressed the need for each and everyone to adhere to traffic rules. Expressing concern over the rise in road accidents, he said most of those who succumb in accidents are those in the age group of 18 and 45. Parents too have a role in sensitizing children on road safety rules, he said.
Dr Vijay Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University was present as a chief guest.
Prior to the function, students of Ladyhill Victoria School organized a rally as part of Say No to Drugs campaign.
