Mangaluru: Muslims welcome Hindu Temple procession, celebrate communal harmony

Mangaluru, Sep 24, 2025: On Tuesday evening (Sept 23, 2025), Muslim residents of Bajal Nanturu welcomed the procession of offerings (Hore Kaanike) held as part of the reinstallation and Kalashabhisheka of the Amevu Shri Adishakti Devi Temple, demonstrating communal harmony.

The procession, led by the temple head Vitthal Poojari, passed in front of the Badriya Juma Masjid in Bajal Nanturu. Leaders of the Jamaat Administrative Committee greeted the devotees and distributed sweets, cold drinks, and ice cream as a gesture of goodwill.

The event was attended by prominent community members, including K. Chittaranjan, President of Shri Brahma Baidarkal Kshetra, Kankanadi; Abdul Rawoof, President of Badriya Juma Masjid; Vice Presidents Ashraf Bajal, H.S. Hanif, and Nazir Bajal; and temple leaders Vitthal Poojari, Barathesh Ameen, Hariprasad, Hemant Garodi, Nazir Bajal, Abubakkar, Abdul Razak, M.R. Rafiq, Saukath Ibrahim, Yogesh Attavar, and Madhav Krishnapura, among others.

The interaction was seen as a symbol of communal unity and mutual respect.
