Mangaluru: Married man arrested for cheating young woman

Mangaluru, June 30, 2023: Police have arrested a married man from Kadaba on the charges of cheating a young woman after having physical relationship with her by promising to marry her.

The arrested man is Anish Rehman. The arrest followed a complaint from a 24 year old woman at the Women’s Police Station in Mangaluru. The complainant alleged that Anish came into contact with her on Instagram. She said he promised to marry her and then took her to a lodge in Mangaluru where he had physical relationship with her for 20 days. The woman later came to know that Anish was already married following which a complaint was lodged.

Anish has been produced before the court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.

Police said he already had a case under NDPS Act at Kavoor police station.
