Mangaluru: Man drowns while fishing in river

Mangaluru, Oct 9, 2025: A man died while fishing in a river near Alive Bagilu in Thota Bengre. The deceased has been identified as Manohar Putran (53). The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 6:30 pm.

Manohar had gone to the river to catch fish using a net but fell into the water and drowned. Locals, along with Panambur police officers, conducted a search operation, and his body was recovered around 9:30 pm. A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
