Mangaluru: Man arrested for stealing girl students’ clothes from Bellare hostel

Mangaluru, September 10, 2026: Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly stealing clothes belonging to girl students from the Government Students’ Hostel in Bellare.

The incident came to light on September 2 when clothes hung out to dry by the students were found missing. Upon checking the CCTV footage, hostel authorities found that an unidentified man had allegedly trespassed into the hostel premises and stolen the clothes.

A complaint was filed with the police on September 5. Following an investigation, police arrested K. Ramachandra (35), a resident of Kolthige in Puttur, on September 7.

The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded to judicial custody until September 15.
