Mangaluru: Man arrested for attempting to sexually harass woman

Kadaba, Nov 17, 2025: Kadaba police have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to sexually harass a woman who was sleeping in a shed attached to her house.

The arrested accused has been identified as Umesh Gowda, a resident of Kadaba. According to the complaint filed with the police, the incident occurred on the night of November 13, when the woman was sleeping in the shed outside her house. The accused allegedly trespassed into the shed and attempted to sexually harass her.

Hearing her screams for help, the woman’s husband and children rushed to her aid. When they tried to catch the accused, he reportedly assaulted them and also made casteist remarks against the woman.

Kadaba police have registered a case, arrested the accused, and produced him before the court. The court has remanded him to judicial custody.
