Mangaluru: Major fire breaks out at Hoige Bazar tile factory

Mangaluru, January 20, 2026: A major fire erupted at a tile factory in the city’s Hoige Bazar area on Tuesday morning, January 20.

The blaze broke out in the early hours and quickly spread throughout the premises. Fire personnel from the Pandeshwar and Kadri stations rushed to the spot and are engaged in efforts to douse the fire. Thick smoke has made firefighting operations challenging.

The fire intensified due to the presence of large quantities of firewood and other combustible materials stored at the factory for tile baking. Huge flames were seen billowing high into the air.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
