
Mangaluru, Aug 22, 2026: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Rahul Rathnam Pandey on Friday inspected infrastructure and development-related issues at various locations in the city along with CREDAI office-bearers and members and the secretary of ACCE.
The team visited several areas, including Sanghanikethan in Mannagudda, Urwa-Chilimbi, Kottara Chowki, KPT-Yeyyadi Road, Shaktinagar, Hampankatta, Pumpwell Highway and Kuntikana Highway.
During the inspection, CREDAI members apprised the commissioner of issues related to underground drainage (UGD), stormwater drain maintenance, footpaths and roads. Officials also briefed the team on ongoing works and projects yet to be taken up.
During discussions on infrastructure and road development, Pandey directed officials to examine the feasibility of installing a traffic signal at Yeyyadi Junction to improve traffic flow.
He also suggested establishing a suitable bus stop and dedicated bus bays to help ease traffic congestion in the area.
The commissioner further directed officials to ensure proper interlocking pavement on both sides of roads and maintain footpaths adequately to improve pedestrian safety and convenience.
Officials from the Town Planning and Engineering departments of the MCC were present during the inspection.
