Mangaluru: Lokayukta continues file verification at MCC amid corruption allegations

Mangaluru, June 28, 2025: The Lokayukta’s investigation into alleged corruption within the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) intensified on Friday, with officials examining documents in the town planning department.

During the inspection, the team reportedly found irregularities in files related to Transferable Development Rights (TDR). This development follows a late-night raid on June 21, when Lokayukta officers scrutinised records across multiple MCC departments and uncovered widespread administrative lapses and power misuse.

Continuing the probe, officials also reviewed documents in the office of Joint Commissioner Ravi Kumar M. on June 25.

The file verification resumed on Friday, and the Lokayukta team has announced that a detailed report will be forwarded to the central office. Further action will be determined based on directives from headquarters.
