Mangaluru: Karavali Utsav from December 20; events planned at six beaches

Mangaluru, December 17, 2025: The Karavali Utsav for the current year will begin on December 20, with a series of attractive cultural and adventure programmes to be held at various locations across the district, said Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V.

He was speaking while presiding over a preparatory review meeting for the Karavali Utsav held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The main programme will be held at the Karavali Utsav Grounds in the city. To attract tourists to the district’s coastline, events will be organised at six beaches as part of the festival. These include Panambur, Ullal, Someshwar, Sasihithlu, Tannirbhavi and the Blue Flag Beach, he said.

Adventure sports will be held at Sasihithlu Beach; a Wine, Cheese and Cake Fest at the Tannirbhavi Blue Flag Beach; a Music Festival and Triathlon at Tannirbhavi Beach; football, volleyball and other sports at Ullal Beach; cultural programmes at Panambur Beach; and a musical evening and yoga programmes at Someshwar Beach.

A variety of cultural programmes aimed at attracting the public will be organised. Food festivals will be held at all beaches, featuring a wide range of snacks and cuisines. An Art Park programme and a flower and fruit exhibition will be organised at Kadri Park. A film festival will also be held in Mangaluru city, the Deputy Commissioner said.

Football tournaments will be held on December 27 and 28 at the Nehru Maidan football ground. Programmes will also be organised at Pilikula Nisargadhama. To attract the public, helicopter rides have also been arranged, Darshan H.V. informed.

District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Narwade Vinayak Karbari, Mangaluru Sub-Divisional Officer Meenakshi Arya, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mithun H.N., Deputy Conservator of Forests Antony Mariappa, and others were present at the meeting.
