Mangaluru, Mar 19, 2026: A joyful atmosphere prevails at the Pilikula Biological Park on the outskirts of the city, as an Indian wolf named ‘Geetha’, a mother of seven cubs, has marked a new milestone in the breeding of Indian wolves.
Geetha drew attention after giving birth to seven cubs in a single litter. Of the seven newborns, four are males and three are females. Indian wolves have been nurtured at Pilikula for the past three years, and this is the first successful breeding recorded here.
The mother wolf and all the cubs are healthy, with veterinarians and animal caretakers closely monitoring them. The cubs are now active and moving around, and have been opened for public viewing.
