Mangaluru: Illegal sand transportation; cops seize vehicle

Mangaluru, June 13, 2025: Kankanady police have thwarted illegal transportation of sand and have arrested the pick-up driver Mohammad Nijam alias Nijju.

The vehicle was intercepted near Padil Junction. On finding the vehicle loaded with sand, the police demanded the driver to produce necessary permits. However as he did not have same, he was arrested.

It is learnt, the driver has revealed that he had loaded the sand at Arkula grounds. Police seized the vehicle as well as the sand.
