Mangaluru: Illegal cattle transport foiled; five cattle rescued, accused flee

Mangaluru, Mar 19, 2026: Acting on a tip-off from Bajrang Dal, police intercepted a car near Badaga Edapadavu village, close to the Shastavu Shri Bhuthanatheshwara temple, at around 4:30 am on Wednesday.

Upon inspection, the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene. Police found that five cattle were being transported illegally and in a cruel manner inside the car.

A manhunt has been launched to trace the absconding accused. The incident occurred within the Bajpe police station limits. Police also recovered a weapon from the Fortuner car.
