Mangaluru: House gutted in fire in Kottara; family escapes unhurt

Mangaluru, Feb 20, 2026: A house near Sagar Courts on Kalbhavi Road in Kottara caught fire due to a short circuit in the early hours of the morning.

The house, belonging to Uday Kumar, is located near Sagar Courts on Kalbhavi Road in Kottara. The fire reportedly broke out around 3.15 am following a short circuit.

On noticing the flames, Uday Kumar, his wife, and their two children, who were asleep at the time, rushed out of the house. As they managed to escape in time, no injuries were reported.

However, the house was completely gutted in the blaze. Local residents, along with fire and emergency services personnel, rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
