Mangaluru, Mar 09, 2022: On the occasion of International Women’s Day the Mangaluru Horse Riding Academy organised a unique event wherein several women jockeys rode horses on the prominent roads of the city on March 8, Tuesday.
As many as nine young women and a few little girls rode seven horses, one horse cart and a Victoria chariot. Horse riding on various roads including Hampankatta, K S Rao Road, Kodialbail, PVS, MG Road, Circuit House Road evoked enthusiastic response. Members of the general public encouraged the horse riders and offered them flower bouquets.
The horse riding was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra near the DC office premises. Avinandan Achenahalli, Founder of Mangaluru Horse Riding Academy said activities like horse riding boosts the confidence and morale of women and the programme was organised on Women’s Day with this objective in mind.
