Mangaluru: Heavy rains cause wall collapse, flood shops; DC inspects affected areas

Mangaluru, July 17, 2025: The city has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past two days, leading to various disruptions in several areas. On Wednesday night and Thursday morning, intense rain caused a compound wall near Mary Hill to collapse, damaging several two-wheelers parked nearby.

Floodwaters entered multiple shops in the Kottara Chowki area.

 

 

 

 

Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V. visited rain-affected areas on Wednesday night, including Bajjegudda in Bijai, Arya Samaj Road, Pumpwell, Malemar, Kavoor Ullasnagar, and Kottara Chowki, to assess the situation.

Rain continues to lash the city.
