Mangaluru: Four held in two separate MDMA peddling cases

Mangaluru, Jun 26, 2026: Police have arrested four persons in two separate cases for allegedly attempting to sell the banned narcotic substance MDMA in the city. Cases have been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Nadeem (27), a resident near Lido Mall in Halasuru, Bengaluru; Umarul Farooq (30), a resident of Uchila in Someshwar, Ullal; Imthiyaz Ismail Kinya (41), a resident of Kinya on K.C. Road; and Dhanush (29), a resident of Suraksha Nagar, Kumpala.


MDMA

In the first case, acting on credible information that MDMA was being stored at a lodge in Bendore for sale, officers of the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) conducted a raid and arrested Mohammed Nadeem, Umarul Farooq and Imthiyaz Ismail Kinya.

Police seized 35.53 grams of MDMA and Rs 7,030 in cash from the accused. They were later handed over to the Kadri police, who registered a case under the NDPS Act. The three accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

In a separate operation, Dhanush was allegedly caught attempting to sell MDMA near Mulihithlu in Bolara. Acting on specific information, the Pandeshwar police conducted a raid and seized 2.32 grams of MDMA from his possession.

The accused was produced before the court, and further investigation is underway.
