Mangaluru: Express bus collides with suto-rickshaw; three injured

Mangaluru, Apr 18, 2026: Three persons were injured, including an auto-rickshaw driver who sustained serious injuries, in a head-on collision between a private express bus and an auto-rickshaw near Kethikal, close to Vamanjoor, on Friday evening.

According to reports, the private express bus was travelling from Mangaluru to Moodbidri when it allegedly collided with the auto-rickshaw near Kethikal. The impact of the crash completely mangled the front portion of the auto-rickshaw, leaving the driver critically injured, while two passengers in the auto also sustained injuries.

Passengers aboard the bus reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a private hospital in the city. Police visited the scene and have initiated an inquiry.
