
Bajpe, December 24, 2025: Bajpe police have arrested eight members of a gang involved in cattle theft and illegal transportation of animals from various areas, including Kenjaru, Karambaru and Bhatrakere, under the Bajpe police station limits.
Police said the arrests were made following an investigation into three separate cases related to cattle theft and illegal sale and transportation of meat that were recently registered at the Bajpe police station. The accused have been produced before the court, and further investigation is under way.

In connection with a case in which a Jersey cow worth about ₹50,000 was stolen near the Bhatrakere mosque close to Bajpe in July, the police arrested Mansoor Adyapadi (42), a resident of Adyapadi Site; Mohammed Ashwad (25) of Thokkottu–Permannoor village; and Rilwan Ahmed alias Rillu (26) of Kotekepura in Ullal taluk. A car worth approximately ₹5 lakh was seized from the accused.
In another case, related to the theft of eight cows that were left grazing near the Kapila Goshale at Kenjaru village on December 12, the police arrested Hasanabba (40) of Jokatte–Tokuru village and Mohammed Rafiq (56) of Jokatte. A Pulsar motorcycle worth about ₹1,000 was seized from them.
Further, in a case dated December 20, involving the theft of six cows in Karambaru and an attempt to transport them in a cruel manner in an Omni goods vehicle and a Tata vehicle for sale, the police arrested Abdul Rahiman Shafeer (21) of Karambaru in Kenjaru village, Hasan Sajjad (18) of Pejavara, and A.K. Ahmed Adil (20), a native of Kenjaru village and presently residing at Kinnigadavu, on December 21.
Police have seized the vehicles used in the offences and are continuing further investigation.
