Mangaluru: DYFI stages protest over pothole-ridden Kankanady road

Mangaluru, July 22, 2025: The DYFI Mangaluru City Committee staged a protest near the Kankanady Karavali Circle over the issue of large potholes on the Kankanady–Bendorewell road.

Speaking at the protest, District President B.K. Imtiyaz, who inaugurated the demonstration, said, “Despite thousands of crores being spent under the Smart City project, the main entry road to Mangaluru remains neglected. Daily accidents caused by these potholes have led to injuries and even deaths, and the municipal authorities are directly responsible.”

He further warned, “If the road is not repaired within 15 days, the DYFI will launch an intensified agitation.”
