Mangaluru: Cylinder explosion at rented house near Mijar leaves three of family seriously injured

Moodbidri, Aug 12, 2026: Three members of a family sustained burn injuries after a cooking gas cylinder exploded at their rented house near Mijar on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at around 6:30 am. Shivaram (31), a watchman at Alva’s College, his wife Ganga (25), and their six-year-old son Adarsh were injured in the explosion.

Shivaram suffered severe burn injuries, while Ganga and Adarsh also sustained burns. The injured were shifted to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

The exact cause of the cylinder explosion is yet to be ascertained. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
