Mangaluru: Couple booked for pledging fake gold to avail Rs 26 lakh loan

Mangaluru, Oct 15, 2022: Police have registered cases against a couple from Monkey Stand in Mangaluru following a complaint that was lodged accusing them of cheating a gold finance company by pledging fake gold ornaments.

 

The accused are Hastimal Parmar and his wife Sangeetha. The complaint stated that they had pledged 795 grams of fake gold on different days and had availed a loan of Rs 26,99,910. The matter came to light when the  gold was examined on October 1.

Immediately the firm sent a notice to the couple to repay the loan amount. When they failed to do so a complaint was lodged against them.
