Mangaluru: Container lorry catches fire near NMPT gate

Mangaluru, April 12, 2022: A container lorry caught fire accidentally near the NMPT gate in Panambur police station limits on April 11, Monday evening.

 

The vehicle was on way to Thrissur from Goa when fire was noticed in between its cabin and rear part. The alert driver Ravindra Kumar Chowdhury  of Uttar Pradesh immediately got off the vehicle and escaped injury.

The Hoysala patrol vehicle which rushed to the spot immediately summoned the NMPT fire tender vehicle and helped in dousing the fire.

A short circuit in the engine of the vehicle is said to be the cause of the fire.

Mangaluru North Traffic Police have registered a case.
